Saturday, October 18, 1–3 p.m.
Cow’s Eye Dissection
Have you seen our famous cow’s eye dissection at the museum? Here’s your chance to go behind the scenes with the lead Explainers, dissect a cow’s eye, and experience the wonder of it firsthand. Through both the dissection and other activities, you’ll see the details of an eye and learn the function of each part. (Please note: Explainers will demonstrate cuts so that parents can help out younger children.) |

Garden Snail Inquiry
Learn to use the tools of “inquiry” the way our Explainers do while investigating garden snails. Families will have fun playing with these critters while learning skills that they can use together, such as designing investigable questions and planning experiments. |

Sheep Brain Exploration
Have you ever wondered what it looks like inside your brain? In this workshop, you’ll try some activities to get you thinking about your brain. Then, you’ll get to explore a real sheep’s brain with the guidance of a lead Explainer. You’ll make a map of the brain for your family to take home so you can remember what you’ve learned. |
