Whether
you watch live in our Webcast studio or later, on
your computer, our Webcasts take you to the places
worldwide where science happensto Zambia,
for example, for a stellar look at a solar
eclipse? and to interesting events inside our own walls, such as the zany science experiment cookoffs of our Iron
Science Teacher competitions. We add an authoritative,
often interactive spin on what you see, calling
on other experts, from artists to astronauts, to
help provide additional insight. Check our calendar
for upcoming Webcasts and our archives
for events you may have missed. |

Our film program takes you beyond the museum's walls
to explore more about people, places, and ideas
related to science and art. We pick the most compelling
films available to enhance our exhibitions and events,
often inviting you to interact with visiting filmmakers. Screenings and film-related events are offered free of charge with museum admission.
See the Online Calendar
for more information. |

On the first Wednesday of each month, the
Exploratorium opens its doors to the community,
free of charge, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The
museum's mission is to create a culture
of learning to nurture people's curiosity
about the world around them. Free Wednesdays
are an important way for us to provide access
to low-income families who might otherwise
be unable to visit. Generous support from
our corporate partner helps make Free Wednesdays
possible. |
