Iron
Science Teacher: Bi-Coastal Challenge

Watch
as the best teachers on the planet battle it out for the title
of Iron Science Teacher. This special edition will pit east
coast teachers from Columbia University against teachers from
the Exploratorium's Teacher's Institute. In this zany competition
teachers will have ten minutes to create a science activity
from a "secret" ingrediant. |

from the Young Women's Health Conference

Young
women from various Bay Area high schools attended the second
annual Young Women's Health Conference at the Bill Graham
Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. The conference aimed to
educate and inform Bay Area girls about their health and other
issues important to their development. A group of Exploratorium
Explainers attended the conference and reported back with
articles and video. |

Stump

Nobel Laureates on October 26. But for a more casual, dare

prize-winning scientists to explore the science behind some
intriguing Exploratorium exhibits. Come see great minds working
on the mysteries of physics, natural phenomena, and the process

Explanime:
Anime, "Explainer Style"
What is anime? Anime is Japanese for animation. You've probably
seen anime before, but didn't realize it. Cartoons from the
'80s such as Thundercats, Voltron, and even Starblazers were
all anime. On Saturday, August 18th, 2001 the Exploratorium
will hosted its first anime Webcast. We featured an Anime Trivia
Show, that tested the skills of three brave souls. Got anime?
